Inpatient Geriatric

A Mental Illness is a condition that affects a person’s thinking, feeling or mood. Such conditions may affect someone’s ability to relate to others and function each day. Each person will have different experiences, even people with the same diagnosis.

Specialized Therapies

WellBridge believes in holistic care, and that treatment should be as enjoyable as possible, especially when treating the difficult nature of mental illness. Specialized therapies complement our many clinical therapies to offer new and enjoyable ways for patients to learn, experience happiness, be comforted, and relate with others.

Listening to music has shown to be highly therapeutic and can significantly improve the atmosphere of the clinical setting. Music allows some people to access emotions. Local musicians entertain patients regularly. Music is often played throughout the day.

Art allows patients to express themselves visually. Engaging in drawing, painting and other forms of artwork can be relaxing, expressive, and can make some individuals more open to talk therapies. Patients regularly take part in art projects that they share with other patients.

Many people find the presence of gentle pets with quiet dispositions comforting and enjoyable. We find that pet therapy is one of the most enjoyed programs offered to WellBridge patients, and we frequently bring in a variety of pets for our patients to interact with and enjoy.

Exercise and game play promotes overall health, mental wellbeing, and relaxation. Therapists lead patients in exercises that help with flexibility and mobility.
